The 15 most common reasons why you can't pay online

  1. Your card does not have internet payments enabled

This problem is common with newly issued cards.

If you receive a new card from the bank, check via your online banking to confirm that internet payments are enabled for your card. If not, activate online payment permissions in your banking account or contact your bank for assistance.

  2. You have exceeded the limit on your card

If custom internet payment limits are set on your card and your transaction exceeds these limits, the bank will reject the payment.

    Common card limits include:
  • Transaction amount limit: the maximum amount allowed for a single payment, or the daily spending limit
  • Payment frequency limit: the maximum number of payments permitted per day

Please adjust your payment limits in online banking and retry your payment.

  1. You do not have enough money on your card

If your account balance is insufficient, the bank will decline the transaction.

Please select an account with sufficient funds to complete your purchase.

  2. Your card has expired

An expired card (the expiration date is printed on your payment card) cannot be used for checkout.

Always use a valid, in-date card for online payments.

  3. You pay with a card issued in a foreign region

Payments made with foreign bank cards may be declined. Some European e-shops do not support overseas card transactions.

If the store confirms they do not accept foreign cards, please use a local card to complete payment.

  4. You entered the wrong verification code or 3D Secure code

Typos in payment details are a frequent cause of failed transactions, including:

  • Incorrect card number
  • Wrong CVC code
  • Invalid 3D Secure verification code sent by your bank

What is a CVV / CVC code?

The Card Verification Value (CVC) is a 3-digit security code on the signature strip at the back of your card. It is a mandatory security measure for all online payments.

What is 3D Secure Code?

3D Secure is a one-time verification code sent directly to your registered phone number by your bank. It is an advanced security protocol for online transactions, and payments cannot be processed without valid 3D Secure authentication.

To avoid input errors, you can enable card saving or use the pre-filled online banking payment option.

  1. You have not selected a payment method in the payment gateway form

After redirecting to the payment gateway, you must select a valid payment method to proceed.

    Available options usually include:
  • Credit/Debit Card (Visa, Mastercard)
  • Fast bank transfer
  • Standard bank transfer
  • Google Pay, PayPal and other digital wallets

  1. You pressed the Back button during checkout

Clicking the Back button after confirming payment will interrupt and cancel the transaction.

This often happens when customers try to edit order details last minute, or accidentally return to the store page on mobile devices mid-payment.

  2. You closed the payment gateway window

Closing the payment pop-up window or browser tab while the transaction is being processed will terminate the payment.

Please do not close the browser or payment page until your payment is fully confirmed.

  3. Unsupported phone number for mobile payment

Certain mobile payment methods have usage restrictions.

Premium SMS payment may not be supported by your phone plan, and corporate phone numbers cannot be used for mobile m-payments.

  4. Payment has a time limit

Every payment session has an expiration time. If you do not complete checkout within the valid period, the transaction will time out and fail.

A "Payment has expired" notification will be shown once the time limit ends.

  5. Error on the e-shop side

Payment failures may be caused by technical issues on the merchant’s side, such as:
  • Incorrect payment gateway settings
  • Hosting server errors
  • Missing or invalid SSL certificates
  • Malfunctioning store payment modules

  1. The payment gateway has failed or is under maintenance

Unexpected gateway outages or scheduled system maintenance can cause payment failures.

Maintenance is usually arranged during off-peak night hours. Please wait temporarily and try again later.

  2. Power failure or unstable internet connection

Sudden power cuts or interrupted internet connection will stop the payment process.

If you have a weak network signal, reconnect your internet and retry the transaction.

  3. Payment is blocked by browser cookies or extensions

Browser plug-ins, cached data or corrupted cookies may block payment pages, especially ad blockers.

    Solutions:
  • Clear browser cache with Ctrl + Shift + R
  • Temporarily disable all browser extensions
  • Complete payment via incognito mode or a different browser
